HYACINTH COUNSELING
Welcome!
Our lives can be complicated, overwhelming, and difficult. But with the right tools and support, we can cope, thrive, and build rich, fulfilling lives. I love supporting my clients through self-exploration as they build on their strengths and identify/challenge unhelpful patterns and beliefs. Hello! My name is Leyla (she/her) and I'm glad you're here!
MY APPROACH
I work within a relational-cultural and feminist framework and my approach is trauma-informed and client-centered. Essentially this means I’m interested in learning about you! I want to know about your story, your experiences, your identities, and how culture and society may have impacted you. My goal is to build a safe and trusting space where we work collaboratively to facilitate healing and inspire growth. Therapy can help us to learn, make change, attain our personal goals, and get us back on track and living in the moment again. I’m trained in several leading evidence-based modalities including CBT/TFCBT, DBT, MI, IFS, EFT tapping, attachment therapy, and narrative therapy. I use an integrative approach to support clients with regulating emotions, building self-compassion, effective communication and boundary setting, mindfulness, and getting more attuned to the connection between our minds and bodies.

About Me
I'm a Seattle-based therapist, and I work with teens (16+) and adults. I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. My license number is LH60980608. I’ve worked with clients of all ages and backgrounds and received most of my clinical training in the field working in community mental health prior to opening my practice.

I consider myself a nature and animal loving, deep feeling, introvert. When I’m not meeting with clients I love walking my dogs, cuddling with my kitties (who often demand food while I'm in session), exploring new parks and trails, paddle boarding, watching baking shows and listening to podcasts (bring me your recommendations!).

About Hyacinth
I named my practice “Hyacinth Counseling” for a few reasons. Hyacinths are among the first blooms of the season, and they’re my favorite flower. The name is also a nod to my heritage and for me, they’ve always represented new beginnings, growth, and hope.
